Hey! So I just moved to Vancouver and won't need my car now that I'm in the city.
Great things about this car:
~ New clutch (fall 2013) --> $1300 fix, and you shouldn't have to this this again
~ New timing belt (fall 2014) --> $1200 fix, and you won't have to do this again
~ New all-season tires (fall 2014) --> worth $760 with an excellent warranty from Kal-Tire
~ 2.2 L engine --> 2.5 L engine Subies of this generation had a lot of head gasket problems that the 2.2 L engines don't experience
~ 5 speed --> inherently cooler than automatic
This car is awesome for everything - I've used it for camping (if you're short, you can sleep in the back) and for multiple trips across BC and dashing around the islands. The interior is grey (fabric, not leather) and is clean and in great condition.
The 'Check Engine' light is on due to a downstream oxygen sensor that needs to be replaced (affects how good of mileage you will get, but does not affect the overall operation of the car). I have a quote from my mechanic for how much this would cost to replace, and of course am happy to take this into account in terms of negotiating around price.
